From sands to snow, back to reality in Canada

We've been back home for a week, and things have returned back to normal. Rosie is back at school, Tim is so happy to be back at work :(
And Sage is back on the bed.
Last evening, we went skating on the Rideau Canal (the world's largest skating rink) and faced wind, cold and frostbite to accomplish 6 kms! We tagged along with the Edwards Family,
our great neighbours on Greyrock. Afterwards, we ordered pizza and tested out the Costa Rican spicy sauces.A great way to start the March Break.

La Paz Waterfalls, a park brimming with life
Hi there - we went to La Paz waterfalls park on Wednesday morning. It is the most beautiful natural park I've ever visited. Brimming with butterflies, hummingbirds and tiny creatures, the park is carved out on a mountain side. After the tour, we headed straight to the airport and began our long trek back home. What an airport in San José. Packed with people, heightened security measures, long line-ups ----
but, true to its policy favoring kids, a separate check-in line (and shorter one too) for families! Our flight back was uneventful and we arrived in Ottawa at 1:30 a.m.We just woke up now, in our onw beds. No sounds of birds, or of the ocean. We'll be heading out soon to pick up the little Sage who is still frolicking about on the farm.

We made it to Alajuela!
We're heading out!

Hi folks - our last message before heading out by car to the dock where we will be brought by water taxi to Golfito. There we cab it to the airport which is really only a landing strip. We show our confirmation number to the old man who maintains the runway, embark on the 8-seater airplane to the Alejuela airport near San José. There we will cab it to our B&B- Vida Tropical, and probably visit the Paz Park which is nearby with unique waterfalls, hummingbirds, butterflies and botanical gardens.
