Tim

Today we started our snorkelling early when the water was a bit calmer. We found lots of little shells and kept them in my pocket. I also tried to fish again and actually had a fish on for one brief jump. The fish was s skinny silver fish that our neighbour, Sylvain, said was probably a mackerel. He says there are 3 or 4 types of and only one is good to eat .

After lunch I took a bicycle ride down past the Sol Y Mar to see what was around. I went quite a ways but never came across the third grocery store that I was looking for. On my ride a vulture was at the side of the road eating garbage, he never looked up as I rode by.

We also started the hermit crab farm that Rosie will tell you more about.

For dinner we went to the local Italian restaurant. When we arrived there was only us and another couple . Not long after we placed our order a mob of people arrived. The second waitress arrived to start work and when she saw the crowd she was facing she could not handle it and left. This left the owner ( who had recently sprained his ankle ) with only 1 waitress. People started taking orders and were going into the kitchen and serving themselves beer and wine and making salads.

After dinner I walked the girls home and then jumped on the bike to go to the concert. There were quite a lot of people ( Sylvain says they probably draw about 1,000) . They must have come in from other places because I doubt there are 1,000 beds in this village. I saw one act ( never did hear his name ) and then saw a Costa Rican trio called the Three Amigos who were actually

The headline act Taj Mahal followed , I stayed for about 2 songs and left.

As I am writing there are chickens walking around the yard, they are pretty ‘free range’ , I am not sure who they belong to . Ola

Hello, today was a busy day , first we woke up and went snorkelling we found shells and rocks and put them in my dad’s pockets . Then we had breakfast . Then my dad tried fishing again and he caught one at first but then , it broke his line . The fish was very skinny, long and kind of silver . Our neighbour , Sylvain said it’s a mackerel . Then we had lunch and my dad went out on a bike ride . While he was doing that , me and my mom started a hermit crab farm we made walls with sand , coconut and sticks and wood . When my dad came back , we went on the beach and caught a lot approximately 30 -40 little and big hermit crabs PS : Isabelle Beaudry if you are reading this … what do your hermit crabs eat? After my mom came and she switched places with my dad , she saw how many crabs we had and laughed . We had fun!

Rosie, A quick google search reveals that Hermit crabs need protein, and eat almost anything. Actually yucky things, dead fish, seaweed and cuttlebones (I don't know what they are). They can also eat fallen fruit, carrot, nuts and seeds. Can you try to take a picture of your farm, because I can't really imagine it.
Emmy was reading your page today, and is trying to catch up on your trip so far, she'll continue tomorrow and I'll show her how to send you notes. It sounds like you have some great outings planned,
have fun. Livers and Samuel are playing Timbits hockey at the Scotia bank place tomorrow...7AM start, so I'm thinking Francine's afternoon siesta sounds great for tomorrow, since we'll be up at 5:30.
